The move tool is what you use to move layers around.
Do this by holding down the left mouse button and dragging. If the layer is part of a layer-group, the entire group will be moved. Hold down Ctrl to group or ungroup layers. Right-clicking a layer with this tool brings up the layer menu, where you can
select layer options.
Use the restrict mode to constrain the layer being moved to the horizontal and vertical directions only, or to constrain it to the area within the background.
The move tool has the following options:
Options
Normal
In this mode, the move tool simply selects and moves the layer underneath it,
whether the pixels in that layer are visible or not. This is the default.
Object
In this mode, the move tool reacts to the visible pixels underneath it,
ignoring the transparent parts of any overlying layers.
Single
In this mode, the move tool ignores groups, so that layers that are grouped can be moved independently.
Selected
In this mode, the move tool operates exclusively on the currently selected layer.
This option may be used to move layers that are completely obscured by other layers.
Content
In this mode, the move tool moves all layers except the background layer.
This option may be used to adjust content position after resizing the background.
