For Chasys Draw IES Artist I think it would be handy if you could recognise the synaptics touch pad on many laptops and maybe other brands as simple grpahics tablets and where supported by the touch pad API recognise and use the touch presure data for a more natural drawing, smudging experience on hardware that supports the feature.
Hi,
I've heard that there are some touch-pads that have special hardware-specific drivers that support this functionality. If you install such a driver for your laptop's touch-pad, you should be able to use it with Chasys Draw IES as a simple pressure-sensitive graphics tablet without any problems.

I have a couple of wishes:
1. The use of either gimp plug-ins (Python) or scripts (Schema).
By the way, I really appreciate that you have included the .8bf PhotoShop plugins. The use of windows version gimp plugins and/or schema scripts would increase the functionality of the program immensely. Numerous commercial quality tools already exist for free.
2. Lasso and 'Magnetic Lasso' selection tools.
By lasso I mean a line which is drawn around and object, then the curser changes into a brush which is used to paint over the desired colors to be selected. The selection is then changed when finished to all instances of the selected colors within the original lasso. This is an extremely powerful tool, and worlds ahead of any simple 'select by color' type tool.
By 'magnetic Lasso', I refer to a vector point based lasso that snaps to the nearest edge between any two vector points. The points are placed manually around an object in an image, and the selection is considered complete when the last point is placed on the first.
These two tools are essential for fast and efficient object selection, as the 'magic wand' types of tools, concerning most complex photographic objects, selects not only the unwanted colors but also selects colors outside of the desired area. Otherwise there is no choice but to erase pixel by pixel next to an object with a size one eraser brush.
3. A downloadable native example plugin template with a how-to document for IES plugins.
This may at least allow for easy porting of other plugins, such as gimp etc., into native IES format. It could be simply an example workable plugin source code with the various calling/passing conventions, etc.. clearly remarked in the code. However, an example with a template would be really nice.
-----
I have to say that Chasys Draw IES could easily be better than both gimp and photoshop. It is very close already.
Ease of native plugin design combined with the ability to use the competitions plugins combined with the lasso tools, and you are there. Adobe watch out, because Chasys Draw IES is coming!
Let me know your conclusion through e-mail, if that is not a problem. pauldude000@yahoo.com
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your suggestions. Please find my responses below:
1. The use of either gimp plug-ins (Python) or scripts (Schema).
--
I'll see what I can do.
2. Lasso and 'Magnetic Lasso' selection tools.
--
(a) I'll contact you via email for details on this.
--
(b) Magnetic Lasso is already available, but under a different name -- it's one of the options of the Pen and Path tool'
3. A downloadable native example plugin template with a how-to document for IES plugins.
--
There are some in the help file under 'SDK/Sample Code' and in the installation zip file under 'Source'. Please check them out and let me know if that's sufficient.

Grazie.

I love Chasys Draw IES Artist version 3.75.01!! I use 11 different drawing programs (often using the features of several of them at the same time!) and one feature that I love in your program is the animated graphics. I was disappointed when I discovered the present vine_animated replaced the previous one! I just wish the present one could have been added along with the other one!! Oh, well, maybe it will be on my "Christmas Wish List" - lol -- I love your program, though!!!
Hi, I can email you the old one to add to your brush collection. Please get in touch with me via support@jpchacha.com.

A Selection to brush feature/button, where a selection can be made and it becomes the brush.
Similar to what what done in Deluxe Paint for the Amiga, or can be done in ultimate paint for the PC.
Hi, this feature already exists - make a selection using the Rectangular Selection tool, then, using the Hand tool, right-click the resulting layer and select Objects -> Brushes -> Import Layer

Chasys Draw IES:
Can you release it for Ubuntu
Hi, as explained in the FAQ, supporting two Operating Systems would mean maintaining two separate codebases, hence double the work, double the bugs and double the time taken between releases. I think this is too high a price to pay, especially given that Chasys Draw IES runs fine under Wine and other emulators. For this reason, I'm afraid Chasys Draw IES will be Windows-only for quite some time. However, if you do run into any problems while running it under Wine, kindly let me know.

Layers: Please make it easier to resize them
Lines and Text: Can't find an outline option (otherwise please make a tutorial)
Hi,
1) The next version will have a Resize tool to make this easier
2) Text outline option exists - second dropdown (where the color gradient is), last option. As for the Line tool, noted, I'll see what I can do.

need a feature called Disposal method : a. over previous b. independent frame . Reason for this to keep frames from overlay when run by browser, reviewer does not see this. Egwn I save a gif file and run it in my firefox, the gif llok badly overlay every frame in one. :/ i dont know what feature you use to fix similar dis[psal method used by Falco GIF animator. The Independence frame is what i want to function when save as file.
Hi, I've included an option for this in the Config dialog box for the "flt_GIF" plug-in. You can access it via the plug-in manager.

Please stop using Download.com as your mirror. They use their own wrapper over your software and it's annoying. Use Softpedia instead.
Hi, I emailed CNET admins and they removed the wrapper. Chasys Draw IES is now being delivered in the good old zip archive we all love :-)

PS The program would look more professional, if there were not typos and misspellings in the program's text. Chsys IES 3.65.01
Hi, are you using the English version? The language in the English version should be fine. The other languages are machine translations, and therefore may have typos and grammatical errors. Kindly send me the details via support@jpchacha.com. Thanks.

BIG WISH LIST!....Oh, I just have to repeat what somebody already said anyway!...be able to resize the drawing canvass, also; to have a preferences menu for the whole program; an obvious way to make the tool box stay on the user interface; when I use the Brush tool, since the brush covers alot of the circle/color of paint I'm using, I can't see where I'm putting the paint!; when I've selected a paint color, if I move the tool I'm using anywhere but on the image I'm working on (w/o clicking anything), it colors the whole canvass!! I have Chsys IES 3.65.01
Thanks for letting us give input for future versions!
Hi, I've resolved most of the issues you've mentioned, kindly check out the latest version and let me know if there are any issues I may have not fixed. Thanks.

I am using Draw IES 3.64.02 with mouse and keyboard.
There should be way to select whether the source for the cloning brush is moved or not.
This feature is helpful for all three existing options This, Below and Composite.
I'm not sure how that would be useful, could you share a sample and/or provide more info via support@jpchacha.com? Thanks.
